There are a full-function key row and a fingerprint-resistant soft matte finish on the keycaps. Integrated power button fingerprint readers have a nice look and feel to them, so it’s a shame they’re not included in the entry-level edition. There is one snag. My left CTRL press, on the other hand, felt rigid, as if something inside the computer was blocking one of the corners.

• It has the appearance of being a far more costly laptop. The screen’s edge-to-edge glass, thin bezels, and aluminum upper body all look and sound fantastic. It truly feels like a younger sibling to the Surface Laptop, which I also adore. The base is made of plastic.
